Here is some stuff you may want to know
Each stage is setup with props and targets. As an example, you might have to "hop up out of bed, unlock the jail cell shoot through the window with your pistol, go out and get your shotgun and shoot 4 shells from behind a prop horse, then get your rifle from the horses scabbard and...." Etc.
Each stage is different, and each match is different, and you're timed on each stage with a time penalty for any missed shots.

Since we shoot real guns with real bullets SAFETY COMES FIRST: If you are on the range you are REQUIRED to wear EYE PROTECTION (Glasses that will protect your eyes) and encouraged to wear ear protection.
Clothing: We dress period "Old Western" (1860 to 1899) or "Movie Western", (John Wayne, The Lone Ranger, etc.), as much as possible. (In major matches it 's required). Sorry, but modern Western "that you might wear to paint the town in" doesn't quite fit in with our theme. We do realize, and understand, that it may take some time for new shooters to get their outfits together.

Guns & Ammo
Ammo: If you don't load your own ammo, there are plenty of Cowboy Loads on the market.
Revolver: Any SINGLE ACTION cartridge revolver of at least .32 caliber, LEAD ONLY bullets (nothing jacketed) not loaded above 1,000fps. We generally shoot at steel targets, and hot hunting loads are not permitted. Black Powder or smokeless powder is OK. Bring about 150 rounds.
Rifle: Any lever or slide action, tubular feed, exposed hammer rifle or carbine of .25 caliber or larger in a pistol caliber. (NO .30-06, .30-30, 7mm etc.) OPEN SIGHTS including tang mounted peep sights only. No scopes even if they are period. LEAD ONLY bullets (nothing jacketed), not loaded above 1,400 fps. Bring about 200-250 rounds
(You should call for more details about the "Big Guns").

Shotgun: Any Side by Side, (Double barrel) typical for the era, without automatic ejectors, with or without external hammers, or any pump shotgun with an exposed hammer (Winshester Model 97 or Marlin Model 16). About 25
shotgun shells (2 boxes) no larger than 10 gauge, or smaller than 20 gauge, and #4 or smaller LEAD ONLY SHOT. We suggest "light target" type loads.
(Children under 14, and shooters with special physical needs, get special exceptions to the above rules.)
